The church and the cloister
The 1st church didn’t have a steeple, which drew jeers from the surrounding parishes.
A steeple was built between 1835 and 1842, to be used for a future, more solidly built church. In 1939, work began on placing the steeple on the new church, but war broke out and the masons left. Finished in a hurry, the spire project was abandoned.
Today, the site of this bell tower is marked by a square on the ground near the parking spaces against the church.
