1. At the top of the Lizieux for a 360° view

If you had to choose just one , the Pic du Lizieux viewpoint offers a sublime view of the Haut-Lignon, a unique 360° panorama of the Pays des Sucs, the Meygal national forest and the Mézenc, and a spectacular sunset.

Park at the Chièze parking lot and follow the signs for the ascent. Our summit is well worth the effort… with a 100 m gradient over 1 km.

Thanks to the orientation table, you’ll be able to spot the peaks and admire the villages of : Saint Jeures, Araules, Chambon-sur-Lignon, Le Mas de Tence, St Agrève, Le clocher de Lapte, Pus loin Monistrol/Loire…

    2. The belvedere from Haut-Lignon to Mas de Tence

    Above the village of Mas de Tence, a 180° view!

    You’re in the extreme north-east of the Haut-Lignon. A 3D spectacle awaits you! The village and its bell tower, the Lignon valley with Tence below, then the heights of the plateau and its peaks.
    At dawn, you’ll often catch a glimpse of fog, and the lines of the Loire will take shape…

    Thanks to the orientation table, you can contemplate the landscape over Mont Mézenc, Sucs d’Achon, des Ollières and Bellecombe, before finally plunging into the Monts du Forez.
    At night, the lights dance in the hamlets in the distance.

    3. The Couvet cross in Saint-Jeures

    From the village of Saint Jeures, take the Chemin de Bourrel, the PR 134 Le chemin des Croix, takes you directly to the Couvet cross.

    A beautiful view of Saint Jeures and an amazing panorama of the Pic du Lizieux.

    You can see it from the north face, known as Rocher de la Dentellière, with its distinctive shape, so different from that of the village of Mazet Saint Voy.

    4. The plateau at L'Aulagnier Grand

    Enjoy the great outdoors, at an altitude of over 1100 m, with a touch of mountain air.

    At the gateway to the Mézenc massif, the L’Aulagnier Grand viewpoint is well worth a visit. Here you can admire a wild landscape, with fields of colorful mountain flowers such as fireweed and foxglove.

    5. View of the Lavalette dam

    With your feet in the water, admire our mountain lake from the hamlet of Lavalette, in the commune of Chenereilles. Opposite the leisure center, a magnificent view of the dam, its wild creeks and the reservoir in the distance.

    This aquatic environment is home to numerous animal species and a biodiversity that has led to the Lignon being recognized as a particularly remarkable natural heritage in Europe, due to the habitats and rare species it still shelters.
