From the breathtaking turquoise waters of Lac Bleu to the 360° panorama from the summit of Testavoyre (pronounced “Testa-ouère!”), there’s no doubt you’re in Wonderland.

Forêt du Meygal and Testavoyre

Just a stone’s throw from the Pic du Lizieux, don’t miss the remarkable natural site of Testavoyre.
The summit of the Meygal national forest! At 1436 m, it’s not easily seen, but it’s easy enough to climb, and from its summit, a breathtaking 360° view awaits you.

Not to be missed: a hike through the centuries-old woods of the Meygal national forest, culminating in a 360° panorama from the summit: we’re talking about PR Respirando 189.

You’ll wind your way from scree to scree – here, we call it “chier”, what volcanoes have left us from their eruptions over 12 million years ago.

An experience for summer and winter alike

Would you like to discover the Meygal Nordic ski area? The Chalet de Raffy is the place to be for all kinds of outdoor activities. In winter, it’s all about skiing and snowshoeing, while in summer, it’s all about hiking and nature discovery.

The "suchaillou", a work of refuge-art

At Raffy, discover a breathtaking panorama...

As part of the Fenêtres sur le Paysage program, this troglodyte dry-stone shelter is sure to catch the visitor’s eye. Located on the Chemin de Saint-Jacques in Queyrières, it can accommodate hikers for a night or a few hours’ rest. The panorama of the Monedeyres cirque is easy to contemplate thanks to the orientation table.

The blue lake

The Blue Lake is probably the sight not to be missed! Simply because this little lake is so beautiful. The idea here is not to hike for hours on end, but simply to let yourself be won over by its distinctive color! The turquoise lake.

The site is part of an ancient volcano over 12 million years old. But the lake is quite recent, dug out by the lauzerons in the 20th century, a huge hole was formed until it reached a spring. The lake was created when phonolite mining ceased. The many springs around the site have transformed this 9-metre-deep hollow into a beautiful lake, always blue, whatever the weather…

Discreet terraces allow you to take your time and contemplate.

Practical: take the D15 from the La Détourbe crossroads, towards St Julien Chapteuil, and you’ll be there in 10 minutes.
