Half-Wooded or half-way, the choice is yours

Like a wooden fort erected in the heart of the forest, it is also a hiding place at its heart and a walkway at its summit. There’s no doubt that it inspires a great deal of poetry and a sense of adventure in those who discover it, like a ship in the heart of the green waves of Bois Lambert.

It’s up to you to tell us… what inspires you about mi-bois… in the middle of the woods, in the heart of the forest, friend of the woods 😉 we love the play on words!

Installation in the heart of Bois Lambert

In the summer of 2022, an in situ sculpture designed and created by 3 artists was installed in the Bois Lambert at Chambon-sur-Lignon:

This is the first “Havre d’art” on the Motabilemitinerary.

This tour of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region begins here! An artistic achievement in the form of a collaborative art haven or three art havens in a refuge village. This “Righteous Among the Nations” land of refuge is an ideal starting point for the Motabilem brand, which is promoting this art trail in Europe and around the world.

The origin of sculpture

Three artists, Mireille Fulpius, Marc de Roover and Christophe Gonnet, who are renowned in the art world for works in wood, their preferred material, have built “À mi-bois”.

This artistic installation was commissioned by the Motabilem association as the first ” art haven ” of a future European route. Asked by Motabilem to symbolically host the first site in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, the commune agreed.

Environmentally friendly

The structure is made from douglas fir cut by the ONF (Office National des Forêts) at Bois Lambert (on site). À mi-bois is highly respectful of the environment, both in its layout and construction. A flight of 76 steps, following the slope from the Chemin de Ronde, leads to a platform that plunges into the forest, while at ground level, a ” secret passage ” provides access to an enclosed space.
This work of art appeals to children and adults alike… and to all tree lovers. From the upper platform, you can enjoy the view and the calm of the forest, contemplate the tall trees and dream as you listen to the rustle of the leaves.
This makes it a privileged space in the heart of the Bois Lambert so dear to the village’s inhabitants.
