Concert hall Le Calibert

This “Le Calibert” hall was born of a desire by the municipality of Le Mazet-Saint-Voy under the aegis of Bernard Cotte, with its inauguration in May 2018. The creation in the village of a multi-activity space with a cultural vocation was to meet two objectives:

  1. To provide a tool for local associations, the school, leisure center and others… to organize events and/or activities.
  2. A cultural facility to promote culture in rural areas.

La Salle

“Le Calibert“: this name derives from that given to the fruit of the rosehip (cynorrhodon) which was spread over the site where the hall was built… In popular parlance, it’s known as “poil à gratter”, as a nod to culture. The association’s logo was also inspired by the rosehip fruit.

The coral-red hall, perched at the top of the village, is adjacent to sports facilities, a leisure center and playgrounds, and has 190 tiered seats. Retractable bleachers for certain events. Recently designed and opened in May 2018, its stage equipment is much appreciated by the companies and artists who perform there. It is accessible to people with reduced mobility, and its comfort is widely recognized. And there’s plenty of parking nearby.

Cultural Season

This section is built and run by the Calibert en Scène association, which works to promote culture in rural areas, both for Mazet residents and for those living on the plateau. Our approach to offering a regular, diversified program over a full year is a real challenge for the association’s volunteers.

To meet this cultural challenge, we are supported by the municipality of Le Mazet, the Communauté de Communes du Haut Lignon, the Département, the Région and, of course, a loyal audience.

Our programming is designed to offer quality shows to as many people as possible, sometimes making it possible to “browse” in a category recognized throughout France, but also to promote local artists, not forgetting enthusiastic amateurs. We take care to offer reasonable prices.

We also wish to contribute to the discovery of artistic expressions of all kinds. The diversity of the arts, both in their complementarity and in their singularity, is sought in a rich and varied program, opening you up to new horizons, as well as allowing you to deepen your passions. And we don’t forget our young audiences, to whom we offer a show every school vacation.

The Calibert en Scène team of volunteers works hard to put the spotlight on live entertainment. Your taste buds won’t be left out either, as the friendly atmosphere of the venue, with its snacks and light refreshments, is sure to stimulate your curiosity. As for the artists, they know how to make themselves available on stage for more in-depth sharing of experience.

A place to meet, to discover, to enrich, to open up to the world, or simply to have fun, the Calibert hall meets all these definitions in the broadest sense of the term… and thus contributes to the social fabric of the village and its surroundings.

As mentioned above, our commitment to culture is rooted in the long term, with shows presented throughout the year.

You’ll be able to discover a show every 15 days or so.

Our half-yearly program can be found in our brochure or on the association’s website.

The “Calibert en Scène” team and artists are ready for the curtain-raiser, and look forward to seeing you at Calibert!
